Waves keep rolling along
The South Huntington Beach Waves continued their dominating run
through league play last Saturday by picking up their seventh and eighth
league victories by sweeping a doubleheader from the West Garden Grove
Blue Steal, 13-2 and 13-5.
Eleven Waves combined to roll up 26 hits for 23 RBI, including five
players who doubled.
Hilary Pool paced the offense with a double, two singles, and five
RBI, while Monica Bledsoe doubled with two singles and three RBI, and
Lorny Freeland singled three times with three RBI.
Nicole Peckham contributed a double, three singles, and two RBI, Sara
Taylor singled twice with a trio of RBI, Danielle DeLany doubled, singled
twice, and had an RBI, Katie Sullivan singled twice with two RBI, Ashlee
Huston singled and had three RBI, Kim Gonzalez had a pair of singles and
an RBI, Stephanie Mello singled twice, and Erica Svoboda doubled.
The Waves’ offense was matched by the combined pitching efforts of
Freeland, Pool, and Sullivan, who struck out 17 in two games.
