OCC women’s water polo: Pirates win Citrus title
GLENDORA - The Orange Coast Collge women’s water polo team won its
third tournament championship title of the season Saturday when the
Pirates defeated Saddleback, 5-1, at the Citrus Tournament.
OCC took care of San Diego Mesa in the semifinal with a 5-4 victory.
In that game, Christine McDonald led the Pirates with two goals. Daylene
Coberly, Neisha Hoagland and Ellen Dolan scored a goal each as goalie
Erin Kennedy recorded five saves.
In the championship victory Coberly, McDonald, Jennifer Hallman, Devon
Wright, Kristina Miloslavic scored a goal each as Coach Mike Giles played
everyone.
The Pirates (18-2) won the Ventura Tournament, have a co-championship
title from the Diablo Valley Tournament and now have the Citrus
Tournament.
