The Corona del Mar High girls volleyball team will play at Costa

Mesa tonight at 6 p.m. in a Pacific Coast League tuneup before Thursday’s

showdown with Laguna Beach.

The Sea Kings are coming off a busy few days. They competed at the

Torrey Pines Tournament Friday and Saturday as well as a sloppy, but

effective, five-game match with University on Thursday.

In their last PCL matchup, the Sea Kings, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern

Section Division III-AA, were led by senior Lindsay Anstandig, who had 22

kills and five ace serves. Sara Deming (11 kills) and Katie Duggan (10

kills) also added to the offense, while Jacqueline Becker’s 47 assists

helped pace the attack.

For the Mustangs, 5-4, 2-2 in league), they lost to Division IV’s

top-ranked team, Laguna Beach, 15-5, 15-6, 13-15, 15-7, on Thursday,

despite strong play from Casey Peterson (15 kills) and Emily Abbott (nine

kills).

Elsewhere today:

Estancia’s girls volleyball team will host University in a PCL matchup

at 3:15 p.m.

In girls golf action, Newport Harbor and Woodbridge will tee off at

the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course at 3 for a Sea View League matchup.

The Estancia boys water polo team will host the Eagles’ Tournament

with further action taking place Friday and Saturday.

In collegiate golf, the Orange Coast College women’s team will take on

fellow Orange Empire Conference foes Fullerton, Golden West and Irvine

Valley at noon at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.
