The Surf pounds LBZ, 9-2

Behind the four-goal scoring of Kevin Lachman, The Surf on Tuesday ran

away from LBZ, 9-4, in Mite Club Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline

Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Lachman also added an assist for The Surf, who improved the team’s

division-leading record to 3-0.

Shane Lakes scored once and dished out three assists; Mike Sacco

scored once with an assist; and Chad Ramsey, Tyler Lakes and Adam Daley

each scored once for the victors.

Goalie Eric Morejon recorded 12 saves.

For LBZ, which suffered its first loss in falling to 2-1, Brad Barber,

Jeff Bisso, Donald Kohler and Michael Mendez all scored. Michael

Burhardt, Mendez, and Jeffrey Deutschmann each had an assist.

In other Mite Division games:

Xpress 6, Rhinos 2

Tyler Ruiz and Scott Mahelona both scored twice, Travis Wear and Kyle

Diaz each scored once, and Nick Dluglosz had an assist to lead the

Xpress, which collected its first win of the season, to improve to 1-2.

Russell Peltier and Patrick Mask scored for the Rhinos (0-3).

CAMPBELL DIVISION

Warriors 6, Lazer Blades 2

Ryan Kalama slapped home three goals and added an assist, James

Williams scored once with an assist, Brooke Easton and Taylor Song each

scored once, Jacob Rushing and David Abady added one assist each, and

goalie Austin Shannon stopped 17 shot attempts as the Warriors (1-2)

picked up their initial win of the season.

Sean O’Connell scored off a Max DeVries assist, and goalie Dean

Metherell had 27 saves for the Lazer Blades (0-3).

Slapshots 5, Hurricanes 1

Wesley Theobald scored twice and had one assist, Zachary Malloy and

Robert Oliver each scored once with an assist, Trevor Dunbar scored once,

Alec Fuller and Caitlin Apostol each had an assist, and goalie Cody

Schlegel had 20 saves for the Slapshots (1-2).

Alec Schartner scored off a Dylan Heyden feed, and goalie Kyle Morrill

had 23 saves to pace the Hurricanes (1-2).
