Young singers get training at Opera Pacific

Four young singers recently began eight months of training as Opera

Pacific’s first group of resident artists, a program designed to help

vocalists connect a formal education with a professional career.

Soprano Christina Suh, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Woodling, tenor Chad

Berlinghieri and baritone Andrew Fernando were chosen in nationwide

auditions conducted by Opera Pacific earlier this year. Berlinghieri is

from Newport Beach. Instructors come from Opera Pacific’s staff and from

nearby university faculties.

The singers will have opportunities to perform in Opera Pacific main

stage productions at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa

Mesa and at other venues.
