GUN CONTROL

Is in favor of waiting periods for obtaining handguns and opposed to

concealed weapon permits. Favors stronger regulations on the sale of

firearms at gun shows. Criticizes Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington

Beach) for a voting record that he says is “100% NRA. He’s sewn up.”

ENVIRONMENT

Feels that inadequate protection is given to sensitive environmental

areas, particularly local beaches. “We’re ruining our beaches and water

right down from Crystal Cove.” Would push for greater protection of the

Bolsa Chica mesa.

EDUCATION

“I’m 100% opposed” to Proposition 38,” he says. “Vouchers have failed

in the past, and it looks like they’re going to fail again. I think we’re

going to beat it.” Says community colleges need to receive greater

support and public education needs to be free at all levels. “Prisons

should not be a priority. Schools should be a priority.”
