THE RACE FOR HUNTINGTON BEACH CITY CLERK
Tariq Malik
First elected as city clerk in 1988, Connie Brockway is unopposed this
election.
She served as a deputy city clerk from 1968 to 1988, and said the
city’s most pressing issue is cooperating with other government agencies
outside of Huntington Beach.
The city, she said, must be sure that it has representation at the
county, state and national levels, and that the good work of the City
Council and other municipal departments continues into the future.

* BIGGEST CHALLENGE FACING THE CITY
The rising challenge for the city over the next few years is to
continue its growth despite fluctuations in the economy, Brockway said.
“We also need to work on getting our infrastructure in shape because
we can’t see the underground pipes and sewers, but the need is there,”
she said.
