pie-eating contest held during the third annual Trick or Treat Festival

on Oct. 29 at the swap meet at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa

Mesa. He placed in a category for children 7 to 12 . . . Huntington Beach

resident Alex Bakulin has completed graduate school in the field of

philosophy at Purdue University . . . Vanover College freshman Rebecca

Lynn Nosaka of Huntington Beach is a member of the newly formed club Hui

Hauman ‘O Hawaii. The purpose of the club is to spread “aloha” (love and

Performing Arts, a magnet school of the Huntington Beach Union High

School District, recognizes graduates Trevor Brackney and Alan Chin as

has been appointed sales manager of the new Claremore neighborhood of

single-family, detached homes in the Summer Lane community in Huntington

Beach . . . Frank J. Ford has been appointed senior vice president of

since it opened in May 1999 . . . Marine Corps Pfc. Joseph J. Ellis
