The Orange Coast United Rush girls’ Under-12 Division soccer club won

its eighth consecutive match Saturday, defeating the Arsenal Rush of

Ontario, 2-0, in Ontario.

After a scoreless first half, Robin Ibbetson opened the second half

with a goal off an assist by Cindy Mendoza to put the Rush out front for

good. Just two minutes later, the duo traded spots, with Ibbetson feeding

Mendoza for a goal and a 2-0 lead.

Brittany Koster, Courtney Anderson, Amy Staudinger, and Jaque Anderson

also aided the Rush on offense.

OCU earned the shutout behind the defensive play of Amanda Shaw, Tori

Rocke, Elyse VanLeer, Jennifer Powell, Samantha Castillo, Sasha Key,

Chelsea Wisdom, and Brianna Baker.
