Oiler girls take on Rubidoux tonight

The Huntington Beach High School girls’ volleyball team, seeded third

in the CIF Southern Section Division I-A playoffs, will travel to

Riverside tonight to battle host Rubidoux in a first-round game.

Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the school, at 4250 Opal St.

The Sunset League champion Oilers (14-4) advanced to meet the Falcons

by sweeping past Beverly Hills on Tuesday, 15-3, 15-0, 15-8. Jennifer

Jardikas contributed nine kills to the victory.

Rubidoux, the third-place representative out of the Sunkist League,

surprised host El Cajon on Tuesday in a match that went to the wire,

10-15, 15-11, 15-5, 5-15, 15-12.

Golden West League champion Ocean View wasn’t as fortunate, however,

as the Seahawks dropped a Division II-A wild card match to visiting

Wilson of Hacienda Heights, 15-10, 9-15, 15-9, 3-15, 8-15.

Ocean View finished the year 10-4.
