Fountain Valley resident David Pastore, a member of Troop 558 became

an Eagle Scout on June 28. Under David’s leadership and direction, he and

his fellow Scouts built and installed custom shelving for the

organization. David is the son of Richard and Beverly Pastore of

Huntington Beach . . . Marine Corps Pfc. Joseph J. Ellis reported for

duty with the Marine Air Group 46, Detachment A, at Camp Pendleton. Ellis

chapter of Pi Alpha, a national honor society for public affairs and

administration, inducted John DeWitt and Johnny Jurado of Huntington

Sullivan of Huntington Beach was named to the dean’s list at Salisbury

joined the executive staff at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Fountain

Valley . . . Linda Le, daughter of Thanh Le of Huntington Beach, has been

awarded a Citizen Scholar award from the Office of Community Service

Learning in the Commonwealth College at the University of Massachusetts

Amherst . . . Dale S. Vital of Fountain Valley has been appointed chief

nursing officer at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. He is

responsible for providing nursing leadership for the organizations, and

plays a role in developing community, business and physician

relationships . . . Navy Hospitalman Apprentice Michael D. Pless of

Huntington Beach graduated from the Basic Corps School at the Naval

Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, Ill. Pless is a 1995 graduate of Marina High School and is the son of Michael Pless . . . Fountain Valley

resident Cathy Ziemba has been recognized by the California Assn. of

Community Managers as an account executive with Seabreeze Management Co.

Ziemba was honored for her development of the financial course component

of the association’s new certificate program for community association

managers . . . Teresa C. Vaught of Huntington Beach has graduated from

the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis in

Tacoma, Wash. She is the daughter of Kendall and Milton Vaught, and a

graduate of Huntington Beach High School.
