Basketball: Elks Lodge set for ‘Hoop Shoot’

COSTA MESA - The Elks Lodge No. 1767 “Hoop Shoot” free-throw

contest will be held Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The annual event is open for all youngsters ages 8-13 and the event will take place at the Boys and Girls Club at 2131 Tustin Ave.

The contest is part of the Elks National Free Throw “Hoop Shoot”

contest and local winners may advance to the district, state, regional

and national championships throughout the upcoming months.

Each contestant will shoot 25 free throws and each local winner will

receive a basketball from Lodge No. 1767.

The event will be broken up in three divisions. The boys and girls 8-9

division will have registration at 8:30 a.m. with shooting to begin at 9

a.m. Registration for 10-11 division will be at 9:30, with shooting at 10

and 12-13 division will have 10:30 registration and a 11 a.m. shoot time.
