South Coast Repertory has announced pay-what-you-will performances

for “La Posada Magica” and “A Christmas Carol,” which run Saturday

through Dec. 24. The special performance for “La Posada” will be at 8

p.m. Dec. 13. “Carol” will be at noon Sunday. Theatregoers may buy two

tickets in person. A $5 minimum is suggested. The box office is at the

Orange County Performing Arts Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa.

Auditions to be held for ‘Arsenic’

Trilogy Playhouse will hold auditions for its Adult Theatre Ensemble

production of Joseph Kesselring’s “Arsenic and Old Lace” from 6:30 to 9

p.m. Dec. 12. There are roles for 11 men to play ages 25 to 55, one woman

to play ages 25 to 35, and two women to play ages 45 to 55. All roles are

open.

Those auditioning should prepare a two-minute comedic monologue or

material from the script, which may be picked up after 5:30 p.m. on the

day of the auditions. Bring a picture and resume. The performances will

be held Fridays through Sundays, Feb. 9-25. The playhouse is at 2930

Pacific Symphony league to hold holiday lunch

Michael Hoffman, principal trombone player with both the Pacific

Symphony Orchestra and the San Diego Symphony, will be the special guest

artist at the Pacific Symphony Orchestra League’s holiday luncheon and

meeting at 11 a.m. Dec. 11 at Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar, 3300 Bristol
