We stopped in at Traditional Jewelers at Fashion Island this week for

a preview of fabulous jewelry available for the holidays. It’s actually

the 25th anniversary season in Newport Beach for upscale gem purveyors

Lula and Marion Halfacre, owners of the store.

“We feel very blessed to be a part of the lives of members of this

community, sharing in their engagements, weddings, anniversaries, new

arrivals and so much more,” Lula Halfacre said. “And the best part is

that many of these people are not only clients, but friends.”

The Halfacres have developed such relationships based on trust. In the

jewelry business, trust and taste are everything.

The active couple are involved in all kinds of community projects,

quick to lend their personal and professional resources to help whenever

asked.

Two young women who work at Traditional Jewelers, Debra Hosoda and

Edyta Martynowska, volunteered to show off the store’s precious goods.

1. Debra Hosoda models an exquisite platinum, diamond and blue

sapphire necklace. The necklace has 295 diamonds with a carat weight of

30. The 49 sapphires weigh 16 carats. The cost to Santa: $69,500.

2. On Debra’s ears are platinum and diamond earrings designed by Star.

Made up with round brilliant diamonds, tapered baguettes and marquise-cut

diamonds, the earrings have a carat weight of 2.20 and costs $19,290.

3. Edyta Martynowska displays platinum and diamond earrings designed

by Charles Krypell. Featuring round and brilliant diamonds weighing 3.20

carats, the pair sells for $18,750.

4. Edyta shows off a killer ring from NOVA Styling, featuring a

fantasy award-winning center stone cubic zirconia set and surrounded by 6

carats of diamonds ($33,390).

5. Around Edyta’s neck is a piece designed by Stefan Hafner in white

18-karat gold from his “new millennium” collection. The necklace features

249 round brilliant diamonds with a total carat weight of 4.75 ($23,990).

6. Debra lends a lovely hand to share this Ambrosi designed 18-karat

white gold, five strand, diamond bracelet with a carat weight of 27

($69,990).
