Women’s basketball: Lions take care of UCSD
COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University women’s basketball team,
ranked No. 10 in the nation by the NAIA, defeated UC San Diego, 56-52,
Saturday night in nonconference action.
Laura Lee led the Lions (4-1) with 15 points, including five
three-pointers, while Becki Huddle chipped in with 14 and Kelly Boeke
added 13.
The Lions led by nine late in the game, but UCSD (2-1) cut the lead to
four with less than two minutes remaining. Nicholle Bromley led USCD with
14 points.
