In a Nov. 28 article in the Daily Pilot, Councilwoman Norma Glover is

quoted as saying, “I don’t think the people have accepted that this is a

built-out city.”

Glover is correct. Most residents think it is an overly built-out

city, with the wrong kind of build-out.

Much that has gone on here in Newport Beach in the past 20 years has

been to develop that which was not in the best interests of the citizens

that live here.

As a “short timer” resident in our city, perhaps Glover doesn’t know

what Newport Beach was like in the past?

Perhaps if she looks again at what the residents have told her in the

passage of Measure S, she will see the course given is for the balance of

her term.

If not, Glover will then realize that she has served the remainder of

that term as a “lame duck.”

No doubt about these voters’ intentions

Regarding the commentary on the Greenlight in the Daily Pilot

Community Forum, Nov. 28.

How about a round of collective community applause and appreciation

for the proponents of Measure T and opponents of Measure S for not asking

for a recount?

Recount! Recount!

But Costa Mesa is such a nice name

So Janice Davidson is a backer of perennial candidate and now Costa

Mesa City Councilman Chris Steel. What a surprise.

Maybe with the two of them working together, they can get the city’s

name changed from the Spanish “Costa Mesa” to something more . . . white.
