Black Widows beat Poison Blossoms, 4-1

Denise Figueroa scored two goals Sunday to power the Black Widows out

of AYSO Region 5 (Fountain Valley/Westminster) to a 4-1 victory over the

Poison Blossoms in a girls’ Under-10 Division soccer match.

Nisha Patel and Aarushi Sharma also scored goals, and goalkeeper

Courtney Kronmuller played a strong game at the net.

Kaylee Walk scored the lone goal for the Poison Blossoms, who also

received solid play from Tattiana Benfield, April Bennett and Allison

Marion.

Surf City wins

pair of matches

The Surf City Smackers won two games last weekend to advance to the

division finals.

Lindsay Mangan and Amy Nunez each scored once in a 2-0 win over the

Avalanche, with Andrea Gonzalez and Breanna Flynn leading the defensive

shutout.

In the second game, another 2-0 triumph, this one over the Soccer

Stars, Nunez and Allison Dufault scored.

Gold Rush takes

division title

The Gold Rush claimed the Region 55 Under-10 Division championship

Sunday by defeating the Ice Breakers. Members of the Gold Rush are Kevin

Gall, Brett Holdaway, Matthew Westwell, Beau Amaral, Matthew Cole, Eric

Epperson, Chris Gaglione, Joshua Gonzalez, Mathew Wolff, Ian Reilly, ody

Springer and Kevin Ketelsleger.
