Oilers rally for 48-47 win victory

Dax Miller and Ryan Shillito sparked a fourth quarter rally by the

West Huntington Beach Oilers, resulting in a come-from-behind, 48-47

victory over Aliso Niguel in a boy’s NJB seventh-grade All-Net Division

game.

Miller and Shillito each scored eight points in the period for West

Huntington Beach, now 2-1 overall.

Greg Bartolme led the Oilers with 16 points.

DIVISION 1

o7 Grizzlies 52, Wolverines 45f7

Alex Le scored 18 points and had four steals, Viet Nguyen scored 14

points along with 10 rebounds and four steals, and Guy Garcia had six

points matching six steals as the Grizzlies won a game that was tied

through three quarters.

Alexis Chorn scored 17 points and Robert Martinez and Tim Hyatt had 10

points apiece for the Wolverines.

o7 Jabberwalkies 48, Bruins 23f7

Chris Debowski came up with another solid performance, this time

scoring 11 points with eight rebounds and four steals; Taylor Grosso had

10 points and five rebounds; guards Tyler Killian and Ryan Stehle

combined for 17 points; and Jeff Millard and Matt Derocili paced the

defensive end with nine rebounds, eight steals, and four blocks for the

Jabberwalkies.

DIVISION 2

o7 76ers 58, Wolverines 56f7

Daisuke Furukawa and Daniel Morris each scored 12 points, Ryan Kragen

had 10 points, Tyler Demes and Alex Artinger each added six points and

Jonathan Perez led in rebounding and hit a key basket in the closing

minutes as the 76ers (3-0) rallied from an 11 point deficit to remain

unbeaten.

Mike Almanza came up with a big offensive game for the Wolverines,

netting a division-best 34 points, and Chris Shopshire led in rebounds

with nine.

o7 Bruins 33, Barons 28

f7 The Bruins notched their first victory of the season as Tyler

Freleaux had 11 rebounds and five points, Brandon Kurz scored seven

points with eight rebounds and Kevin DeHerrera and Bobby Hosseiny keyed

the defense.

Ricky Rea scored seven points with three rebounds and two steals for

the Baronso7 .

Knicks 30, Lakers 28

f7 Matt James had 12 points as the Knicks (1-2) came back from an

18-point halftime deficit to win in overtime. Matt James, Ben Bofill,

Buster Gallegos, and Tyler Petry also keyed the rally.

7TH-GRADE ALL-NET

FV No. 2 61, Villa Park No. 2 44

Fountain Valley’s full court press stifled Villa Park as Ben Han

scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds and three assists, Sean Carroll

scored 14 points, Brian Bissonette had 11 points and six boards, and Sam

Bridges grabbed 13 rebounds with six points to lead the victory.

Carroll also had 12 points in a 51-41 loss to Irvine No. 2.
