The Fountain Valley City Council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 2

in the City Council Chambers, 10200 Slater Ave. has been canceled. The

council will reconvene Jan. 26.

Public hearing set on rec center plans

The Fountain Valley City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m.

Tuesday on the city recreation center’s expansion and redesign. The

Community Services and Planning commissions’ comments and suggestions

have been incorporated into a park design, which will be reviewed at the

meeting.

The city’ hopes to develop a cohesive plan that will tie the new

23-acre parkland to the existing 55-acre park. The new design will

include a new and recognizable park entrance and street frontage that

will identify the Fountain Valley Recreation Center as a place for

Rose Parade trip tickets on sale now

The Huntington Beach Community Services Department is accepting

registration for its annual excursion to Pasadena’s 112th annual Rose Parade. Tickets are $80 and are available at the Civic Center, 2000 Main

Community Clinic names new board members

The Huntington Beach Community Clinic has named new officers to its

board of directors. Taking office in January will be Phil Inglee as

chairman; Al Guidoti, vice chair; Maggie Higgins, secretary; and

returning chief executive officers Jacqueline Cherewick and Craig

Furlong.

Artwork being accepted for Surf City exhibition

The Huntington Beach Art Center is encouraging artists to present

artwork for its annual non-juried exhibition, “Centered on the Center.”

The exhibit will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27.

Artwork will be accepted until the galleries are filled and must be

ready to hang or install. Work must not exceed 72 inches in either

direction nor exceed 50 pounds. For information about media or size
