Football: Peeples heading to Montana

COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College defensive back Johnnie Peeples

will continue his playing career at the University of Montana next

season, according to Coach Mike Taylor.

Peeples, who was honored with Coast’s Outstanding Defensive Back award

at the team’s awards banquet, finished the season with 46 tackles, two

fumble recoveries and two passes broken up.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound sophomore was the team’s the same award for

OCC last season.

Montana wrapped up its season with a 13-2 record. The Grizzles won the

Big Sky Conference and reached the NCAA Division I-AA championship game,

where they lost to Georgia Southern, 27-25, on Saturday.
