Roller Rebels take bite out of Crocodiles, 3-2

Tyler Bertrand scored off a Kyle MacLeod assist in the third period,

and the Roller Rebels’ defense shutdown the Crocodiles the rest of the

way to score a 3-2 victory Saturday in the championship game of the

Norris Division at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington

Beach.

Bertrand also had an assist and MacLeod also scored once, Kyle MacLeod

scored, and goalie Tyler Post posted 27 saves to lead the No. 3 seed

Roller Rebels.

The regular season champion Crocodiles received single goals by Austin

Shannon and Nathan Bergeron, an assist by Christopher Eaves, and 25 saves

by goalie Jeff Fuzzard.

In other championship games:

SMYTHE DIVISION

Red Devils 4, Stars 3

Single goals went to captain Wesley Keizer, Spencer Koon, Lance Unrau

and Sean Wing, Craig Chorpenning had an assist, and goalie David Finney

had 29 saves as the fifth-seeded Red Devils won the title. Joshua Gasser,

Cody Merrick and Kyle Carter all scored, and goalie Jason Moore stopped

26 shot attempts for the No. 4 seed Stars.

HOWE DIVISION

Jackals 4, Sabres 3

Shane Galaviz slapped in three goals, Raffi Tchekmedyian scored once,

and goalie Colten Daigneault had 32 saves for the No. 5 seed Jackals.

Dayne Fujiwara scored twice, Robert Sanchez scored once, Zachary Cudeback

and Drake Dwyer each had an assist, and goalie Josh Hulstein had 23 saves

for the No. 2 seed Sabres.

PATRICK DIVISION

Hot Shots 4, Chiefs 2

The No. 2 seed Hot Shots received two goals from Danny Cano, one each

from Justin Hernandez and Nicholas Brodie, an assist from Corey Cano, and

27 saves by goalie Greg Earl. Anthony Branson and Evan Phelan both

scored, Tanner Marsey had an assist, and goalie Alex Vongkoth had 22

saves for the Chiefs, seeded fifth.

LEMIEUX DIVISION

Chunks 5, Mohawks 4

Chad Pelliccioni handed out four assists and scored once, Gerardo

Gomez scored twice, Liam O’Halloran and Jessen Zimmerman each scored

once, Charles Bruce had two assists, and goalie Jeremy Nelson had 25

saves as the No. 4 Chunks edged the No. 2 Mohawks, who received two goals

and an assist from Ryan Onodera, a goal and assist from Sean Onodera and

Brian Ayala, and 30 saves by goalie Kyle Concannon.

MITE CLUB

The Surf 7, LBZ 6

The Surf (No. 3) denied another regular season champion a postseason

title as Adam Daley, Shane Lakes and Chad Ramsey each scored twice,

Michael Mongelli scored once, Kevin Lachman had a pair of assists, and

goalie Ross Turchi had 24 saves. For top-seed LBZ, Michael Mendez and

Michael Burkhardt each scored twice, Brad Barber and Jason Wall each

scored once with an assist, Jeffrey Deutschmann had two assists, Jeff

Bisso had an assist, and goalie Brandon Prince had 26 saves.
