Providing clean drinking water to Surf City residents

WATER MAN

There is a small store in Huntington Beach where you can walk in, see

the smiling face of local Vincent Nguyen and purchase freshly filtered

water. Behind a counter, you will see tanks holding water, lots of pipes

and some machinery. All in all, these components add up to make a system

of purifying water -- also known as reverse osmosis. Nguyen said reverse

osmosis is just simply another name for a purification technique.

“It’s high-tech, low-cost,” Nguyen said. “Look, there are toxins

everywhere, we can’t escape them, so drinking this water is just your

personal choice.”

THE PRO

Nguyen has worked in the water purification business for about 15

years and has been a purified water drinker for the same amount of time.

He began his career at a factory that built water purification systems

and worked his way up until he left in June.

“I started on the assembly line building reverse osmosis systems,”

Nguyen said. “I worked on many different models and in my time there, I

also was a technician, designer and consultant.”

Nguyen wanted to explore another dimension of his work, so he decided

to get involved in opening a small store that would provide Huntington

Beach and its surrounding cities with a high standard product as well as

something convenient.

“It’s a great alternative for the high cost of water that other

companies deliver,” he said. “The benefit of what I provide is cheaper

cost, as well as the conditions. When you get water from here, you are

getting it from a sanitary environment.”

HAVING FAITH

Nguyen is a man who believes in his product. He is open seven days a

week for almost 12 hours a day. He has another job as a consultant

because the store has only been open for three months. The quiet man who

diligently keeps his store sanitized, feels that his product speaks for

itself.

“I welcome anyone to come and try it for themselves,” he said. “You

can make the judgment after you taste the water.”
