Estancia falls, 56-52

HUNTINGTON BEACH - Estancia High dropped a 56-52 decision to

Alaska’s Colony High in girls basketball at the Marina Tournament Friday.

The Eagles, who fell to 8-7, had their chance with a 54-52 deficit and

10 seconds remaining, but could not convert, then fouled in desperation,

which led to two last-second free throws by Colony.

Zuyin Barrera was Estancia’s scoring leader with 12 points, with Lisa

Hirata, Xochitl Byfield and Jessica Orellana each connecting for nine

points.
