Sharks burn Fire, 6-3

Garrick Langer scored his team’s first three goals and went on to

post a game-best four goals overall Friday to lead the Sharks in a 6-3

victory over the Fire in an Adams Division opener played at Coast 2 Coast

Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Tied 1-1 through the first period of play, Langer scored twice and

Joshua Ane scored once as the Sharks took a 4-2 lead into the final

quarter.

Jimmy Rodriguez also scored for the Sharks, and goalie Travis Beckman

had 15 saves.

Michael Feirstein provided the Fire with all of its offense, scoring

three goals, and goalie Taylor Song recorded 21 saves.

In other games:

Bulldogs 1, Grommets 0

This defensive struggle was decided in the final period when Matthew

Janelli slapped the puck into the net to lift the Bulldogs. Marcus Kurth

had 20 saves in the net for the Bulldogs.

Raptors 4, Rocket Power 1

Josh Duchon scored all four goals for the Raptors, including three in

the final period, to break a 1-1 tie. Goalie Andrew Livezey had 16 saves

for the winners.

Alexa Bowden scored off a Kylie Girvin assist, and goalie Sean Wing

had 19 saves for the Rocket Power.

Ice Pups 0, Little Tigers 0

Defense dominated this battle as Ice Pups goalie Cody Brothers

recorded 18 saves, while his Little Tigers counterpart, Shayne Nelson,

had 17 saves.
