Intrepid nabs fourth

COSTA MESA - The Intrepid, a girls-under-12 plus team from AYSO Region

120, placed fourth at the Costa Mesa Classic Dec. 29-31 at the Farm

Sports Complex.

The Intrepid won its first two games, 1-0, over Newport Beach and,

5-0, over Culver City, before falling to Los Alamitos, 3-0, and San

Clemente in a shootout following a 1-1 tie.

Avery Williams led the Intrepid with three goals in the tournament.

Other goals were scored by Emily Leece, Ashley Silletto and Rebecca

Hamilton.

Assisting on the goals were Melissa Murphy, Morgan Jones and Julie

Hubbard, while Alisha Smith, Mikyla Lux, Adriana Triana, Brianna

Vanderwal, Sharon Frazier, Andrea Wayte and Kristina Wayte anchored the

defense.
