Fountain Valley police are searching for a man who they say kidnapped

and sexually assaulted a woman in the 17000 block of Euclid Street on

Monday morning.

Police said the victim was walking in the parking lot of the Fountain

Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center at 10:10 a.m., when she was

approached by the suspect. The suspect is described as 50 to 55 years old

and 5-foot-10 with black hair.

The man asked the victim for a ride and got in the car, police said,

adding that when the victim was inside the car, the suspect locked the

doors and drove around for about an hour.

Police said the suspect assaulted the victim during the drive. When

the suspect returned to he area of Warner Avenue and Mount Hope Street,

the victim was uninjured and able to exit the car and run to a place of

safety.

Fire destroys $300,000 boat in harbor

Huntington Beach firefighters are still looking for the cause of a

blaze that destroyed a boat last week while it was docked in Huntington

Harbour.

Martha Werth, Huntington Beach Fire Department spokeswoman, said the

fire began at 12:05 p.m. aboard the Dream Catcher, a 22-year-old Italian

Possillipo yacht valued at $300,000, while it was docked in boat slip No.

316, behind the 3300 block of Venture Drive.

The slip belongs to resident Robert Morris, and the fire caused damage

to two others nearby. No one was hurt in the fire, dock officials said.

Bruce Fenton, a spokesman for the harbor’s dock company, said when the

fire was out, the Dream Catcher was towed to the Sunset Aquatic Center,

where fire officials could examine the remains.

While the cause has yet to be determined, Fenton said a spark from the

boat’s bilge pump may have ignited gasoline to start the fire.

Man sought on indecent exposure charge

Fountain Valley police are searching for a man who is wanted on

suspicion of indecent exposure in an apartment building in the 10000

block of Slater Avenue on Sunday.

Police said the victim and her son were walking to the building’s

laundry room when she heard someone yell, “Hey.” The victim looked up

into a second story apartment and saw the the man leaning out of an open

window and masturbating, police said.

The man is described as about 5-foot-9 and 30 years old, with a shaved

head, medium build and wearing a long-sleeve shirt.

Police said he was last seen in the building’s vacant apartment.
