Women’s basketball: OCC shutdown, 61-54

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College women’s basketball team

matched visiting Riverside point for point in the second half. But, the

Pirates still fell short, losing, 61-54, in Orange Empire Conference

action Wednesday.

Sophomore forward Kristen Urban (Newport Harbor High) led OCC (12-10,

2-3 in the OEC) with 20 points, including four three-pointers. She also

added 12 rebounds.

OCC sophomore guard Karyn Fierst chipped in 14 points, including a

pair of three-pointers.

Riverside (18-7, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the OEC as the Tigers were

led by Adgelda Romagnoli who scored 15 points.
