Lightning holds off Renegades, 4-3

With seven players having a hand in the scoring department, the

Lightning was able to outlast the Renegades, 4-3, in a Wales Division

match played Jan. 17 at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington

Beach.

E.J. Mason scored two goals to lead the Lightning, which also received

single goals from Mark Kosko and Jeffrey Kurokawa, two assists by Cory

Liska and Darryl Morita, and one assist each by Colten Daigneault and

Reid Kays.

Daigneault, who played in goal, recorded 30 saves.

Eric Brazile, Greg Sanchez and Tyler Ruiz all scored, Ruiz and Matthew

Braun each had an assist, and goalie Marc Cooney had 26 saves to lead the

Renegades.

In other games:

Kings 5, Riptides 3

Jeremy Miller netted three goals along with an assist, Lee Herzog and

Kevin Powers also scored, Thomas Lawlor had an assist, and goalie Casey

Maines had 27 saves for the Kings.

Troy Weis scored twice, Chester Kohler scored once, Cody Quarress and

Samuel Whittaker each had an assist, and goalie Kyle Goode also had 27

saves for the Riptides.

Backlash 4, Fire 2

Ryan Hemming and Andrew Mastrolia each had a goal and assist, Blake

Easton and James Dufour each scored once, Jessica Hay and Laura Elliott

had one assist apiece, and goalie Adam O’Connor stopped 30 shot attempts

to power the Backlash.

Matthew Hiraoka and Kyle Bezayiff scored unassisted goals for the

Fire.
