‘DEAR RON’ LETTER

Although I read Ron Davis’ weekly column faithfully, and agree with a

fairly high percentage of his thinking, I have to point out that he has

completely missed the mark in his column Jan. 18 (“Does more electricity

mean more bacteria?”).

Davis hit the nail right on the head in his second paragraph (“. . .

pumping millions of gallons a day of sewage off the coast . . .”), and

then went on for the rest of his column ignoring that second paragraph.

He is strongly opposed to allowing the AES Corp. to double the amount of

warm water it pumps into the ocean next to the sewage.

I’m sorry. The warm water is not the problem. The sewage is the

problem. If Davis wants more community involvement, I suggest that he

would get a greater response in calling for an end to dumping sewage in

the water.

I just can’t get worked up over dumping water in the water.
