Boys soccer: Tars’ lead vanishes
NEWPORT BEACH - Newport Harbor High senior Trey Meek scored two
goals in the first nine minutes, but visiting Aliso Niguel rallied for a
3-2 Sea View League boys soccer victory Wednesday.
Meek converted a Tyler Simmons assist in the fourth minute, then was
credited with a goal when an Aliso defender directed his pass into his
own net in the ninth minute.
Aliso, however, tied it before halftime, then got the game-winner on a
35-yard blast from Nick Spangenberg in the 50th minute.
Harbor, which broke a four-game unbeaten streak, fell to 3-4-4, 1-1-1
in league.
Aliso is now 6-4-4, 1-0-3.
