Baseball: Players needed for OC youth team

The South County Blue Jays Baseball team is currently recruiting

youngsters from Newport Beach and Costa Mesa 11 and under (as of Aug. 1,

2001) to play on a travel team based in Irvine.

Last year’s team placed fourth in the 10-and-under CABA World Series

and ninth in the Cooperstown Dream Tournament last June.

Current players are from Huntington Beach, Tustin, Fountain Valley,

Irvine and Mission Viejo and the team will play a majority of its games

in the Orange County area in USSSA, Triple Crown, CABA and independent

tournaments.

Players interested will be invited to a tryout, which will take place

throughout February.
