The City Council is scheduled to have a closed meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday to interview commission applicants.

The council decided at its Dec. 18 meeting to end all commission terms

in February and to appoint new commissioners by majority vote.

The council considered individually appointing commissioners, but

rejected the proposed new method at the December meeting and again at a

meeting Jan. 16.

The interviews, part of the process to appoint five members to the

Planning Commission and five to the Parks, Recreational Facilities and

Parkways Commission, will be conducted at City Hall in Conference Room A.
