AYSO Region 57: CdM squad wins Area Q championship

The AYSO Region 57 girls under-14 soccer team from Corona del Mar

became the first local team at that level to win the Area Q championship,

beating South Irvine, 2-1, Sunday.

Trailing, 1-0, the CdM “Hot White” exploded with two goals in the

final four minutes of action.

Carolyn Dorian and Chelsea Guibord each scored for the Hot White,

while solid team play was turned in by Ashley Fisher, Katie Wade, Maggie

Nelson, Elizabeth Joyo, Anya Joyo, Ruby Todd, Karlie Roberts, Jamie

Everson, Kelly Nelson, Lindsay Queyrel, Kaitlan Fisher and Taylor

Beauchamp.

The Hot White will next play at UC Irvine in the sectional playoffs in

March.
