Women’s basketball: OCC outguns Fullerton, 66-40

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College women’s basketball team eased

past visiting Fullerton, 66-40, in Orange Empire Conference action

Friday.

Pirates Karyn Fierst and Kristen Urban scored 18 points each, while

Kyra Melville chipped in 12.

Coast (14-13, 4-6 in conference) took off for an 18-2 run early to

lead, 35-18, at the half. The Bucs led the Hornets (9-17, 2-8) by as many

as 30.

Urban, a Newport Harbor High product, shot four of nine from behind

the three-point line and also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
