For nearly 10 years, the Daily Pilot has gone without a Sunday

edition, and often it was hard not to notice.

Big events that occurred on Saturday had to wait for Monday’s paper.

Weekend coverage of happenings like the Toshiba Senior Classic, Orange

County Fair and Newport-to-Ensenada yacht race was hampered by that

missing edition.

But that problem is no more.

We are proud to return to you, our faithful readers, seven straight

days of coverage a week, 365 days a year.

We hope you find this new Sunday edition has a different feel to it,

chock full of interesting features and stories. We want it to be the best

read of the week.

A few of the new features and sections are:

* Sunday Stories: A front page feature story.

* Week in Review: Our Page 2 look at the news of the last week.

* Notable quotables: An array of quotes and comments.

* Looking Back: A historical retrospective.

* Life and Leisure: Features on what Newport-Mesa residents do in

their spare time, including the ever popular On Vacation photos.

* The Ultimate Calendar: A fun and flavorful peek at major events in

the community.

* Youth sports roundup: More from the sporting world of AYSO, Little

League and youth basketball.

We hope you enjoy your new Sunday edition. We have enjoyed preparing

it for you and we’d love to hear your feedback. Give us a call on our
