Anne M. Edler, a soprano and student at UC Irvine, will perform at the

Pacific Symphony Orchestra League’s Valentine luncheon meeting at 11 a.m.

Monday at The Center Club, 650 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa.

The New Hampshire native has performed in the university’s production

of Handel’s “Samson” and Bizet’s “Carmen.” KOCE-TV recently asked her to

represent the musical world in “Mastering the College Experience,” a

series that follows the lives of six students.

In 1999, Edler performed for the Pacific Chorale Guild’s “Catch a

Rising Star” recital. This year, she placed third in the Opera 100

Competition.

Maggiano’s offers Valentine’s special

Maggiano’s Little Italy in Costa Mesa will offer special festivities

for Valentine’s Day with special seatings at 5, 7:15 and 9 p.m. Frank

Sinatra songs will fill the air and guests will be asked to order from

the restaurant’s vast menu, where all dishes are intended to be shared. A

o7 dolce baci f7 torte, which means “sweet kiss,” will be offered for

dessert.

Media is a focus at Roundtable West

Journalist Al Martinez, who wrote “The Last City Room,” actor Peter

Mark Richman, author of “Hollander’s Deal,” and playwright and film

historian Robert Badal, author of “Romancing the Southland,” will speak

at the noon Thursday meeting of the Orange County Chapter of Round Table

West at the Newport Beach County Club, 1600 E. Coast Highway. $40.
