Basketball: OCC men take care of Santa Ana in season finale

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College men’s basketball ended its up

and down season on an up note, defeating visiting Santa Ana, 99-79,

Friday night in Orange Empire Conference action.

Sophomore Ryan Earl ended his OCC career with a career-high 36 points,

while Nick Burwell added 28.

OCC finishes the season 16-13, 7-7 in conference, an improvement from

last year’s 13-16, 2-12 campaign.

On the women’s side, OCC pushed conference-champion Santa Ana to the

limit, but fell short in a 65-61 loss.

Sophomore Kristen Urban (Newport Harbor) scored 28 points and grabbed

11 rebounds for the Pirates (16-15, 6-8). It was her sixth double-double

this season.
