CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High senior Garrett Bowlus, the CIF

Southern Section Division II Co-Player of the Year last fall, has signed

a letter of intent to play water polo at UCLA, his mother Leslie

announced Tuesday.

Bowlus, who led the Sea Kings to their second straight Division II

title last season, chose UCLA over UC Berkeley, Pepperdine, USC and UC

Irvine.

Bowlus a 6-foot-6 two-meter man, scored a team-best 88 goals last

fall. He also contributed a team-leading 32 assists and had 33 steals.

Bowlus is also a member of the U.S. national youth team and was

awarded All-American honors after his senior campaign.

Bowlus will team with Newport Harbor High standout Peter Belden, who

committed to UCLA last week.
