Sun shines on Sun Devils in double OT battle

The Sun Devils needed double overtime to subdue the Jabberwalkies in a

56-54 thriller in a Fountain Valley National Junior Basketball boys’

Division I contest.

Despite the loss, the Jabberwalkies received big games from several

players.

Jeff Millard came up with his best performance of the season scoring

14 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Chris Debowski had a double-double

with 13 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with five assists. Matt

Derocili led the Jabberwalkies with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Stuart Schultz scored 15 points and Dillon Gearin added eight to spark

the Barons.

7TH-GRADE ALL-NET

FV No. 1 60, Laguna Hills 41

Fountain Valley No. 1 (3-7) avenged a one-point first round loss to

Laguna Hills with a decisive victory.

A total team effort was responsible for the triumph, which saw nine of

Fountain Valley’s 10-player roster score.

Vahe Mugerdich, a new addition to the team, led the way with 10 points

and 11 rebounds. Brandon Duquette also scored 10 points and pulled down

four rebounds. Samer Haddad added nine points, four rebounds, five steals

and four assists.
