Club soccer: Slammers edge Bonita

The Slammers Futbol Club boys under-13 silver team continued their

run in the CYSA State Open Cup Tournament Sunday with a 3-2 win over the

Bonita Rebels.

The Silver South Division Champion Slammers scored midway through the

first half with Matt Bregozzo scored off a pass from Efrain Galvan.

After the Rebels tied the score, Briant Mejia ripped a shot into the

goal for a 2-1 Slammers’ advantage.

Mejia scored again to make it 3-1. The Rebels scored to cut their

deficit to one, but could get no further.

The Slammers’ defense was led by Diego Valdivia, Kevin Geehr, Marc

Touchette, Tomas Jacobo, Nathan Javadi, Nick Ossipoff, Callan Campbell,

Andy Kosch, Logan Duarte, Kyle Parton and Tristan Bower.
