AYSO Region 57: Red Devils win Area Q title

The Red Devils, a boys under-12 team from AYSO Region 57, went

unbeaten in the Area Q tournament and advanced to the Southern California

Championships.

The Devils tied Tustin, 2-2, and followed that with three shutouts

over South Irvine (4-0), Newport Beach (3-0) and the Corona del Mar

Baboons (1-0).

In the championship game, the Devils edged North Irvine, 2-1.

The Devils’ defense allowed only three goals in five games and was led

by Trevor Gladych, Max Rollins, Jonathan Gormley and Spenser Singh.

Jon Ryan Wheeler and Taylor Henderson each had three goals, while Ryan

Lanni, Thomas Dialynas and Morgan Brombell each had two.

Alex Neff, Kyle Murai, Ramin Azhir and Peter Broelkchen each played

control the play at midfield.

The Red Devils will be playing for the AYSO Southern California

championship at UC Irvine Saturday and Sunday against area champions from

San Diego, South County, Inland Empire and Los Angeles.
