Orange Coast College improved to 3-0 in Orange Empire Conference
women’s tennis with a 7-2 victory over host Fullerton.
Veronica Sommer stood out at No. 1 singles, knocking off Cherie
Angeloni, 6-0, 6-0. Kristen Lawson had the same shutout resuylts at No. 5
singles, beatingh Nadia Boricha, 6-0, 6-0.
The Pirates, 6-1 overall, host Saddleback on Monday. Fullerton fell to
2-5, 0-3.
The men’s team, meanwhile, was a 9-0 loser to Fullerton on the Coast
campus.
The Pirates, 0-7, 0-3, return on Monday at Saddleback at 2 p.m.
