Boys golf: Eagles have edge over Palm Springs

COSTA MESA - Despite tough conditions, the Estancia High boys golf

team still holds a five-shot lead over Palm Springs, 224-229, in

nonleague action played at the Mesa Verde Country Club, par 36.

Jason Cassidy and Pete Baker each shot a 42 for Estancia, while Joey

Mueller (44), Ryan Brown (48) and Aaron Frankel (58) complete the Eagles’

top five.

The two schools will resume their match on April 23 at the Canyon

Country Club. The Eagles will play again on Thursday at the Mesa Verde

Country Club against Long Beach Millikan, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
