Bulls roll, 43-34

The Bulls advanced to the championship game Sunday of the National

Junior Basketball’s regional playoffs with a resounding 43-34 victory

last weekend over a tough La Mirada squad.

Led by the standout offensive play of point guard Bryan Yasukochi and

center Drew Brahs, the Bulls took command early -- leading by as many as

20 points -- and coasted to victory.

“It was a real team victory,” said Steve Brahs, head coach. “We beat a

very good team, and we had a great effort from everyone.”

Tristan Lobdell contributed key steals, rebounds and defensive stands,

and Nick Pederson, playing his usual game, hammered La Mirada on the

boards and also played hard-nosed defense.

Garrett Weigel played perhaps his best game of the season, pulling

down many rebounds. Jeff Aschieris’ season-long role as team sparkplug

continued, and Kevin Stivers, Jake Manning and Ryan Andrew all played

very well, helping to neutralize La Mirada.

The championship game will be played Sunday at Sonora High School in

La Habra.
