RETAIL ROUNDUP

This message is for the ladies. Don’t worry, there’s something

mid-column for the guys.

Women, it’s time to get fit. Not buff or toned. Fit -- actually

fitted, as in losing that too-tight, breath-incapacitating, squeeze strip

around your chest and letting someone take your measurements.

Eight of 10 women are wearing the wrong bra size, according to Wacoal

America, an intimate apparel manufacturer, and it’s time for the madness

to stop.

Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza will be participating in Wacoal

America’s Fit for the Cure from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30. A fitting

specialist will be available for private consultation and participants

will receive a breast cancer awareness packet.

For every woman fitted at the Fit for the Cure event in bras by

Wacoal, DKNY underwear or Donna Karan Intimates, Wacoal will donate $1 to

the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. No purchase is necessary.

Fittings last about 20 minutes, and it is recommended that interested

women call Nordstrom’s lingerie department at (714) 549-8300 for an

appointment.

On the flip side of the gender equation, Cutty Sark, the whiskey

company, has created the Ultimate Guy Road Trip contest to entice men to

“live like a rock star” on a concert tour bus cruising from Las Vegas to

San Diego.

The contest, which allows the winner and three friends to basically

party hard for seven days and six nights, has no trivia questions, no

essays . . . nada. All you have to do is be a guy, be 21 years old or

older, and fill out an entry form (you can find one at o7

https://www.cutty-sarkusa.comf7 ) by May 24.

Entering and winning the Valvoline MaxLife Car Lover’s Challenge is a

bit more difficult. The contest, which features a $75,000 cash prize,

asks entrants to submit a 500-word essay about their relationship with

their car by March 23. The car has to have at least 75,000 miles on it.

The winner of the essay contest will get to live in his car for 52

days, traveling up to 10,000 miles in 75,000 minutes on a cross-country

excursion. The driver will get a 10-minute break every two hours to “stay

fresh over the long haul.” Nice to know.

Anyone crazy enough to want to enter may find the official rules at

o7 https://www.valvoline.com/carloversf7 .
