Women’s tennis: Lions double up Biola
COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University women’s tennis team won its
first match of the season with a 6-3 Golden State Athletic Conference
triumph over visiting Biola Saturday.
Lindsay Yohner and Silina Yohner each won in singles’ competition for
the Lions (1-3, 1-3 in conference) before teaming up to win in doubles as
well.
The Lions will play at the La Habra Tennis Center against the
University of La Verne on Tuesday, beginning at 2 p.m.

Singles - Jensen (VU) def. Lynch, 7-5, 6-1; Doyal (VU) def. Skidmore,
6-0, 6-1; Yohner (VU) def. Erickson, 6-3, 6-3; Bradley (VU) def. Yano,
7-5, 6-1; Godfrey (VU) lost to Sargent, 5-7, 4-6; Martinez (VU) lost to
Smith, 3-6, 7-5, 6-7.
Doubles - Bradley-Jensen (VU) def. Lynch-Skidmore, 8-3; Yohner-Doyal
(VU) def. Erickson-Yano, 8-4; Bradley-Pardee (VU) lost to Sargent-Olsen,
2-8.
