A man suspected of committing three Huntington Beach burglaries while
naked is scheduled to face a preliminary hearing Friday.
Fady Elbouhy, 22, is set to appear in an Orange County Superior Court
room at the West Justice Center in Westminster, court officials said.
Nancy Lewis, a prosecutor with the district attorney’s office, did not
return phone calls on the case, nor was Elbouhy’s defense attorney, Gene
Doney, available for comment.
Elbouhy is suspected of entering two separate residences in the early
hours of Jan. 29.
That morning, Elbouhy is suspected of gaining access to a 26-year-old
woman’s home at about 5:25 a.m. in the 9700 block of Charing Cross. A
short time later, he is accused of entering a home in the 9800 block of
Garrett Circle, but was deterred by a 49-year-old male resident.
Sgt. Janet Perez, a spokeswoman for the Huntington Beach Police
Department, said evidence at the scenes led police to suspect Elbouhy of
committing the crimes as well as linking him to a similar incident in
December.
Police arrested Elbouhy on March 1 after receiving a phone tip on his
location from his mother, whose name was not released, Perez added.
