Boys Tennis: Mustangs win season-opener over Eagles
COSTA MESA - The Costa Mesa High boys tennis team took eight of
nine matches in singles play and duplicated the effort in doubles en
route to a 16-2 Pacific Coast League victory over crosstown rival
Estancia on Thursday.
Mesa senior Raphael Bernard and junior Spencer Solomon swept through
the opposition in the singles matches, while the duos of Cuong
Nguyen/Mike Chindalah and Laruent Nguyen/Abraham Agopian finished
unbeaten, as well, for the visiting Mustangs (2-5, 1-0).
PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
Costa Mesa 16, Estancia 2
Singles - Bernard (CM), def. Glacy, Leones and Chun, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.
Lilaram (CM) won 6-0, lost 1-6, won 6-1. Solomon (CM), won 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
Doubles - Nguyen-Chindalah (CM), def. Westfall-Alberque, Valdez-Peres,
Duarte-Valbuena 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. Nguyen-Agopian (CM), won 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.
Ji. Au-Jo. Au lost 4-6, won 6-4, 6-1.
