Boys Golf: Eagles lose by nine strokes

SANTA ANA - The Estancia High boys golf team took its first loss of

the season, 411-420, against Woodbridge, after a second half of a

nonleague match at Santa Ana Country Club Thursday.

Estancia sophomore Jason Cassity shot 36 on the back nine to lead the

Eagles with 80. Senior Greg Rausch and junior Joey Mueller both finished

at 84 for Estancia (2-1). Juniors Aaron Frankel and Nick Razo shot 85 and

87, respectively.

The Eagles begin Pacific Coast League play on Monday against Laguna

Beach at Aliso Viejo Golf Club. Tuesday, Estancia will take on crosstown

rival Costa Mesa at Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.
