Club soccer: Slammers head to State Cup semifinals

LANCASTER - The Slammers Futbol Club girls under-13 soccer team

advanced to the semifinals of the CYSA-South State Championship by

defeating the Valley United Stars and the Slammers-North last weekend.

Diana Signoriello and Samantha Tiampo each scored to give the Slammers

a 2-0 win over Valley United on March 10.

Sunday’s quarterfinal matchup with Slammers-North was played under

windy conditions. With the score, 0-0, Kelly Morgan scored the game’s

lone goal with 15 minutes remaining to give the Slammers the win.

Meanwhile, the Slammers girls under-12 squad defeated the TSC Black,

4-1, then defeated the WCFC Premier, 2-1.

Goals were produced by Leslie Grandy, Lauren Hernandez, Megan Jesolva,

Diana Madrigal, Christina Murillo and Sarah Naley, while Taylor Falloon,

Mary Giberson, Shannon Johnson, Jacki Zinke and Kellye Joswick anchored

the Slammers’ defense.
